Great Himalaya Trail

The Great Himalaya Trail is a network of trails spanning the entire Himalaya region of northern Nepal from East to West. There are 2 ways to go about the trail. The low route and the high route. We will be taking the high route. It has an average elevation of 12,000’, with the high point at 20,300’. In taking the high route there is mandatory mountaineering sections and rappels on the highest passes. The overall length is estimated to be around 1,100 miles, which is a very rough estimate. Robin Boustead is the brains and dreamer behind designing the trail. There are several resources about the trail. See links below.

This trail would absolutely not be possible without our friend Matt and his crew in Nepal. He has led 42 treks and climbing expeditions to the Himalaya in Nepal and Tibet. You can see more below on Matt, his crew and guiding company Four Winds Expeditions.
